What does Vedanta depend on?

ANSWER: Vedanta depends on truth. Its foundation is truth. And its goal is also truth. A person can throw away, leave or abandon something that is extraneous to him or herself. But what forms the very core of a person’s being, the very core of a person’s existence, can never be abandoned. And that which forms the very core of a person’s being is Vedanta.

Vedanta is a Sanskrit word. Veda means Knowledge. Anta means end. Thus Vedanta is the end of knowledge, the very culmination of a person’s search for knowledge. That is Vedanta. There cannot be any knowledge higher than that. That knowledge is the most important thing that we have to know.
