Welcome!

Whether you are new to spirituality, have been studying Vedanta for years, or grew up with these teachings, you are welcome here. Vedanta teaches the divine nature of every soul and affirms that the world’s religions are valid paths to the same ultimate Truth. In that spirit, we welcome sincere seekers from all backgrounds.

A good first step is to join us for Sunday Vedanta Practice at our Seattle Ashrama. Each Sunday morning begins with meditation at 10:00am, followed by a teaching by Swami Satyamayananda at 10:30am. Those attending in person are welcome to stay afterward for coffee, tea, and informal discussion. It is a natural way to meet Swami, ask questions, and get to know the community. Since meditation begins promptly at 10:00am, guests are asked to arrive and get settled before then.

If you are not ready to visit in person yet, you can begin by exploring our YouTube channel, podcast, and suggested reading. These are good ways to become familiar with the teachings and the spirit of the Society before attending.

Families are also welcome. Mother’s Children is our Sunday youth program for ages 4–14, offering stories, activities, and discussion to introduce children to Vedanta in an engaging way.

A good way to meet others and become involved is through Karma Yoga Days, our regular opportunities for selfless service at the Ashrama. We also offer vespers and meditation, monthly meditation retreats, and other classes and gatherings throughout the month.

There are many ways to engage with us, but if you are wondering where to begin, start with Sunday Vedanta Practice. It offers meditation, teaching, and the chance to meet others in a calm and welcoming setting.
